Uranus's 2026–2027 retrograde runs September 10, 2026 – February 8, 2027, from 5°42′ Gemini back to 1°41′ Gemini. The one after that is September 15, 2027 – February 12, 2028, from 9° Gemini back to 5° Gemini.
Uranus is retrograde once a year, for about five months: about 41% of the time. So being retrograde is close to a normal state for it, and the two days that stand out are the stations, when it stops and turns.

What is happening in the sky
Nothing reverses. Retrograde motion is an apparent change of direction seen from Earth, the same effect as a slower car seeming to slide backwards when you overtake it. Uranus takes about 84 Earth years to circle the Sun, around seven years per sign, and moves only about four degrees a year. Earth overtakes it every 370 days, so the retrograde begins about four days later each year. The middle of the retrograde is the opposition, when Uranus is opposite the Sun; even then it is at the very edge of naked-eye visibility and is usually found with binoculars.
