Astrology Videos: Short Lessons on Reading Your Own Chart

What these astrology videos are

Each episode teaches one concept in five to eight minutes: what a rising sign is, what the 7th house does, why a square is not bad news. The presenter is a member of our editorial team of astrologers, the chart on screen is a real (anonymised) chart so you see where the idea lives, and there is no fear-mongering, no "the universe wants you to know", and no gendered assumptions about who you love.

We publish transcripts first. Every episode page goes live with a full transcript, key takeaways and links, and the video is added when it is finished. That is why some episode pages say "video coming soon": the lesson is already there in text, and you can read it in three minutes. When the video arrives, the page keeps the transcript for people who prefer reading, for accessibility and for search.

Series

Birth Chart Basics is the place to begin: six episodes that take you from "what is a rising sign?" to reading a whole chart in five minutes. It follows the same order as the first module of the Academy, so you can watch an episode and then do the lesson in the app with your own placements.

Three more series are in production. Compatibility 101 covers synastry the way astrologers actually do it: Venus and Mars, Moon and Saturn, house overlays, and why Sun-sign matching misses most of it. Timing and Transits explains Saturn returns, Mercury retrograde, the Void-of-Course Moon and how to pick a date. Numbers and Personal Codes covers Life Path, personal year and how AstraLink computes number codes from a chart. Each will get its own page and transcripts as episodes are ready.

Why transcripts first

Three reasons. Accessibility: a transcript works with a screen reader, in a quiet office and on a slow connection. Trust: you can check every claim in the script against the written guides and the glossary before you take our word for it. And speed: a six-minute lesson is a three-minute read, and the takeaways are right there when you come back to look something up. The video adds the chart on screen and a human voice; it never adds facts the transcript does not have.

Who they are for

If you are searching for an astrology for beginners video, you are the audience. We assume you know your Sun sign and nothing else. If you already read charts, the episodes are still a quick way to check your understanding, and the transcripts are handy to send to a friend who keeps asking what "Scorpio rising" means.

How to use them with the rest of the site

1. Get your chart first. The free birth chart calculator gives you your Sun, Moon and rising sign in seconds, so every episode is about your placements, not abstract ones.
2. Watch (or read) one episode, then open the matching written guide: the Big Three guide, the rising sign guide, or the learn hub for planets, houses and aspects.
