What is in the full birth chart report?

Most "birth chart readings" online are three paragraphs about your Big Three. AstraLink's report is a natal chart reading of the whole chart, computed from your exact birth date, time and place, and it is organised into seventeen sections so you can read it in one sitting or return to one part when it matters. Every section names the placements it is drawing from, so you can check the interpretation against your own life and against any astrologer you later speak to.

1. Summary. The chart in one page: who you are when you are at your best, what you are working on, and the two or three placements that explain the most.
2. Key chart meaning. The central tension or theme of the chart, usually the tightest major aspect or the relationship between Sun, Moon and rising.
3. Cosmic archetype. Sun sign, Moon sign, rising sign and numerology Life Path combined into one named archetype, such as The Precise Alchemist, with strengths, shadow and what you need in a partner.
4. Chart ruler. The planet that rules your rising sign, where it sits and what it does; the single placement most astrologers look at first. See our chart ruler guide.
5. Lunar nodes. North Node direction and South Node comfort zone: where the chart says growth is.
6. Dispositor centre. The planet (or mutual reception) that the whole chart's rulership chain flows back to, and why it quietly runs the show.
7. Strongest aspects. The tightest, most influential aspects between planets, in plain language, ranked by orb and weight.
8. Life cycle. Where you are in the big planetary cycles: Saturn return, Jupiter return, Uranus opposition, nodal returns, with dates.
9. Talents. What comes easily, drawn from trines, sextiles and well-placed planets.
10. Life themes. The recurring situations your chart sets up, and how they mature.
11. Karmic lesson. The pattern that repeats until you meet it consciously, from Saturn, the South Node and hard aspects.
12. Relationships. Venus, Mars, the Moon, the 7th house and its ruler: how you love, what you attract, and what you need.
13. Career. Midheaven, its ruler, the 10th and 6th houses, Saturn: how you work and where you are recognised.
14. Spirituality. Neptune, Jupiter, the 9th and 12th houses: your relationship with meaning.
15. Health. The 6th house, its ruler and the chart's elemental balance, as themes for self-care, never as diagnosis.
16. Money approach. The 2nd and 8th houses, Venus and Jupiter: how you earn, spend, save and share.
17. Dominant elements and modalities. Your fire, earth, air and water balance and your cardinal, fixed and mutable mix, and what is missing.

Everything below is a sample, written for an invented chart so you can see the voice and the level of detail: Sun in Virgo (11th house), Moon in Pisces (5th house), Scorpio rising, Mars in Cancer, Mercury in Libra, Venus in Virgo, Life Path 5. Your own report will be different in every line.

Summary (sample)

Your chart is built around one clean opposition: a Virgo Sun that wants to refine, and a Pisces Moon that wants to dissolve. With Scorpio rising, both are filtered through an instinct for depth and privacy; people meet your intensity long before they meet your precision. The chart works best when the Sun's method serves the Moon's imagination, and it stalls when you analyse a feeling instead of having it.

The Precise Alchemist. Virgo Sun, Pisces Moon, Scorpio rising and a Life Path 5 combine into someone who turns raw, messy experience into something exact and useful. Your strength is transformation with a method. Your shadow is control dressed as care. You need a partner who does not flinch at your intensity and does not need you to be tidy.

Chart ruler (sample)

Scorpio rising gives you two rulers: Mars by tradition and Pluto in modern practice. Mars sits in Cancer in the 9th house, so your drive is protective, indirect and aimed at meaning: you fight for people and ideas, rarely for status. Because Mars is in the sign of the Moon, your chart ruler answers to your emotions; when the Moon is unsettled, your motivation goes with it.

Dispositor centre (sample)

Your Sun in Virgo is ruled by Mercury, which sits in Libra; Libra is ruled by Venus, which sits in Virgo. Mercury and Venus are in each other's signs, a mutual reception, and the whole chart's chain of rulership loops back into it. Translation: how you think and how you value are one system. When you are fair, you are clear; when you feel undervalued, your thinking gets cloudy.

Strongest aspects (sample)

Sun opposite Moon (2°). You were born near a Full Moon. Head and heart are always in dialogue and occasionally in a stand-off; partnerships are where you work it out. Moon trine Mars (3°). Feelings turn into action smoothly; you are good in a crisis. Mercury square Saturn (4°). You edit yourself hard. Slow, careful speech reads as authority once you stop apologising for it.

Karmic lesson (sample)

With the South Node in Virgo and Saturn squaring Mercury, the repeating lesson is perfectionism as avoidance: polishing the plan so you never have to feel the risk. The North Node in Pisces asks you to act before you are certain, and to let being moved count as knowing.

Relationships (sample)

Venus in Virgo in the 11th house loves through usefulness and friendship first; romance arrives disguised as being on the same team. The 7th house is Taurus, ruled by that same Venus, so you are drawn to steady, sensual, slightly stubborn people, and you leave when you feel unappreciated rather than when you are unhappy. Watch for Mars in Cancer sulking instead of asking.

Money approach (sample)

Your 2nd house is Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter: you earn through expertise and expand by teaching what you know. The 8th house in Gemini means shared money gets complicated by conversation; put agreements in writing. Your instinct to save is stronger than your instinct to invest, and that is fine, as long as it is a choice.
