What is a trine in astrology?

A trine (glyph △) is one of the five major aspects: an angle of about 120° between two planets, measured around the 360° wheel of your birth chart. Because 120° is exactly one-third of the circle, and each of the twelve zodiac signs spans 30°, a trine almost always falls between two signs of the same element — fire, earth, air or water.
