Retrograde calendar · 2030
The full list of planetary retrogrades in 2030: every planet with its dates and degrees, a month-by-month view, the busiest stretch of the year and the days when nothing is retrograde. Each planet links to a detailed guide with a reading for all twelve signs.
In 2030 Mercury turns retrograde three times (Apr 13, Aug 16, Dec 6) and starts the year retrograde, until Jan 11. Venus is retrograde until Jan 26; Mars is not retrograde. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are each retrograde for four to five months. At most 4 planets are retrograde at once (Jan 1–10).

A planet without dates is retrograde for the whole month.
The busiest stretch. At most 4 planets are retrograde at the same time: Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Uranus, on Jan 1–10 (and again Sep 28 – Oct 22, Dec 6–21). Astrologers read a crowded retrograde sky as a period for review and repair across the board.
All planets direct. No planet is retrograde from Feb 21 to Mar 13: the clear run of the year, which astrologers favour for launches and decisions that should not need a second pass.
The fast planets. Mercury turns retrograde three times (Apr 13, Aug 16, Dec 6) and starts the year retrograde, until Jan 11. Venus is retrograde until Jan 26. Mars is not retrograde. These are the retrogrades people tend to notice, because Mercury, Venus and Mars describe everyday matters: communication, relationships and drive.
The slow planets. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are each retrograde for four to five months of every year, so they work as background seasons. The days that stand out are their stations, when they stop and turn.
No planet reverses. Retrograde motion is an apparent change of direction seen from Earth, the same effect as a slower car seeming to slide backwards when you overtake it. Astrologers read a retrograde as a review of what that planet stands for. The retrograde planets guide explains each one.
