Pluto has been moving backwards through Aquarius since May 6, from 5°31′ Aquarius to 3°04′ Aquarius. On October 16 at about 01:30 UTC it stops and turns direct. Nothing changes in Pluto's orbit: the retrograde is an effect of Earth overtaking it, and the station is the moment that apparent backward drift ends. For about a week on either side Pluto barely moves, which is why astrologers treat the station as the concentrated part of the cycle.
