Doja Cat's zodiac sign and birth chart: a Libra Sun, Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Sagittarius

What is Doja Cat's zodiac sign?

Doja Cat is a Libra. The rapper and singer was born on October 21, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, with the Sun in Libra for the whole of that day. Mercury is in Libra as well.

Libra, the scales, is an air sign ruled by Venus. Tradition associates it with taste, wit, social ease and a talent for seeing the other person's side. Astrologers describe Libra as the zodiac's designer and diplomat: it wants things to look right and feel fair. The textbook weak spot is hesitating over choices, since Libra weighs everything twice. With Mercury, the planet of speech and thought, in the same sign, the tradition adds a way with words to that description.

Moon sign

On the recorded birth time, her Moon is in Virgo. The time matters here because the Moon changed sign at 5:16 pm that day, moving from Virgo into Libra. The recorded time is 7:14 am, ten hours before the change, so the time would have to be badly wrong for the Moon to be anywhere but Virgo.

A Virgo Moon is read as observant and exacting. In the tradition it calms itself by putting things in order, being useful and getting the details right, and its sharpest criticism is aimed inward. Next to an easygoing Libra Sun, astrologers describe it as the part of the chart that edits and refines.

Venus and Mars

Venus is in Scorpio and Mars is in Sagittarius. Each of them stays in one sign for the whole birth day, so these two placements hold with or without a birth time.

Venus counts for more than usual in a Libra chart, because Venus is Libra's ruling planet. In Scorpio it is read as magnetic and guarded: slow to trust, wholehearted once it does, and uninterested in anything lukewarm. Mars in Sagittarius is read as bold, playful and restless. It acts on enthusiasm, says what it thinks and wants plenty of freedom to roam. Astrologers treat the two as a contrast, one placement that holds on tightly and one that hates being held.

Rising sign

Her rising sign is Libra on the 7:14 am birth time her mother gave on camera. Astro-Databank, the archive astrologers use for birth data, lists 7:14 am with a Rodden rating of A, the grade for a time quoted from memory by the person or their family. It ranks just below AA, which requires a birth certificate or birth record.

There is a caveat. On 7:14 am the Ascendant is on the last degree of Libra, so a few minutes later would make it Scorpio. A remembered time can easily be a few minutes out, so treat Libra rising as the reading the record supports and not as a certainty. Libra rising is read as graceful, agreeable and style-conscious on first impression. If it is right, the Sun and the Ascendant are in the same sign, which is what happens with a birth close to sunrise.

Is Doja Cat into astrology?

Yes. A behind-the-scenes video for "You Right" (2021) shows her finding out her birth time and reading her own chart, as described by Capital FM. The music video leans on her sign too: NME reported that it opens in a palace filled with Libra symbols. Looking up a birth time and working through the chart goes further than naming a Sun sign, which is why the fact card on this page lists her as openly into astrology.
